Growing up 100 miles from Lubbock, TX you’d think I’d automatically cheer for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.  But over the years I became a UT fan.  …And all things being equal, I might be tempted to cheer for Tech as a sentimental favorite.  But all things are NOT equal.  If Texas Tech wins this ball game, you can all but cancel the Big 12 out of National Championship contention.  It would be a tragedy of course, but Tech will not get the polling respect they deserve should they win.  And that would put Penn State (should they win out) against the winner of the SEC more than likely.  I hope I’m wrong. 

Secondly, I know Corso picked the upset on Gameday, but he had to in order to get out of Lubbock alive.  I don’t see it happening.  I think Tech will find the ‘horns too fast on defense and too disciplined on offense.  I think they have the best chance of anyone yet to upset Texas, however, I think when it’s all said and done, Texas will prove to have the better team.  And should Texas win, they SHOULD receive an automatic National Championshp pass having blown through the toughest four game stretch of anyone in the nation.  I like both teams.  I wish them both well.  But in the end I must say…..”Hook ‘em Horns”!
